Hello one and all!
Soz it's been a litto while since I last updated my blog, but well, you know, life and work and all that..
So, how are you all? well I hope? yes? no? yes? good!
I hope this post finds you all sitting comfortably, or at the very least comfortable in whichever way you are positioned.... I'm not making any assumptions here... and if you are then well, EXCUSE YOU!
Ahem..
So, last week, the weather here in good ol' London town was glorious! sunny, hot and perfectly clear blue skies! so, one of my darling friends Salema, and I decided to meet up and go for a picnic, as is our tradition every year when the weather is at the very least mildly warm, buy some nibbles, chill in park and have a bottle of prosecco, and/or various other alcoholic but fabulous beverages.... see exhibit A below.
So, afterwards, I had booked us in for a lecture at Le Cordon Bleu Paris at the London branch, you know it? that famous cookery school. Anyway, it was in conjunction with the Korean Culture Centre UK. it was a lecture about Korean cuisine, Kimchi, to be specific; its history, uses and the like were spoken about and introduced by the wonderful and delightful chef Da-Hae.
She also did some cooking and Kimchi making/preparing demonstrations, for all to see, there were also various questions during the lecture. the room was large and bright, with mirrors above the workspace and screens so we, the so-called 'students' could see clearly; with the odd camera click or video camera being run around the room by a few Korean girls, the atmosphere was nice, light and friendly.
^ The fabulous Chef Da-Hae, her assistant Chef from the school and the burgers!
So, Da-Hae also told us about her and her husband's company of Korean street food (Busanbbq) and the 'bulgogi-kimchi burger' with a healthy helping of fried Kimchi on top of the beautiful bulgogi burger. and yes... she did make some for us all....and yes, my friend and I had seconds... ahem....
Anyway, after the talk, we wandered into Soho and found ourselves in a gay bar having a couple of shots and downing a couple of glasses of cola...oh yes how rock and roll baby!
So, that was the beautiful sunny day over and sadly, reality hit home again the next morning when I had work again... oh well, no rest for the wicked.
What I gained was a delightful day out with a dear friend, sunshine, a summer like atmosphere and an intriguing lecture, feeling all cultured! oooh!
I recommend these sort of days to anyone and everyone! Never underestimate the power of doing such things as going to lectures, or demonstrations, no matter the field, go for a picnic and enjoy the sun, even if it isn't a blazing summers day and go and live life to the fullest, even if it is a chilled day in the park with a bottle of prosecco and nibbles...
So, Scottie says..
Go out and enjoy! and snatch those interesting days where possible, don't just sit at home and do nothing, at least all the time hehe get out there and go do something, even on a budget it's all doable!
MWAH!
